Introduction

Every year you make some resolutions. They are useless if you don’t bring change into yourself. You must inculcate good habits that will encourage you to live a healthy lifestyle. Being a morning person has many advantages whereas becoming a night owl can lead to severe health problems such as insomnia, stress, anxiety, etc. Following are some good habits that you must incorporate into your daily routine.

1. Gratitude Journal

Are you feeling grateful to God that you somehow survived through the pandemic of 2020? Indeed, many countries tried their best to control the outbreak of the coronavirus but several people succumbed due to low immunity or negligence. Health is important and you should try your best to boost your immunity. Extend your support to those who need it and at the same time thank those who helped you. Being grateful gives you the strength to live through difficult times. You must maintain a gratitude journal to write down about things you are thankful for. Count the blessings instead of complaining about the facilities you don’t have. Gradually, you will learn to have a positive outlook toward life.

2. Read More Books

Reading is a wonderful activity for increasing your vocabulary and connecting with like-minded people. Most successful people religiously follow this habit to stay ahead in their life. You may not be aware of it but your choice of books plays a crucial role in shaping up your image. So you must invest in good books with engaging titles such as “5 AM Club” by Robin Sharma, “Aspire before You Expire” by Ujjwal Patni, and “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki.

You can keep a checklist of books to read in your leisure time. Always carry a notebook with you to pen down new words or ideas. Maintaining this habit regularly will help you achieve your goals.

3. Join a community

You could join an NGO as a volunteer to serve needy people. You can also join a community where you will meet people from all walks of life. Interacting and sharing stories with them will help you develop a new perspective toward life. This will strengthen your communication skills and boost your self-confidence. When you build new relationships, you explore different cultures and develop feelings of empathy toward people without judging them, thus making you a better person.

4.Leisure Time

Investing time for yourself also enhances your personality. Pay a visit to a parlor for glowing skin or a spa for that relaxing body massage. Pursue a hobby, learn a new language or try different sports that challenge you to come out of your comfort zone. Invest in things that give you happiness.

You can also plan a solo trip if you have the experience of traveling and living alone. You should do thorough research regarding accommodations and transportation, and maintain a checklist of things you need to pack for a safe journey. Solo traveling will help you discover new cultures and boost your self-confidence.

5. Declutter your Life

You should learn to differentiate between want and need. Things you want will only create clutter in your life and emphasize things that are necessary for life. You can donate some of your stuff to needy people. When you eliminate negative people from your life, your mind becomes more relaxed. So distance yourself from toxic persons and connect with those who charge your spirit with positive energy. If you are optimistic from the inside, it also reflects on the outside. This makes your personality more attractive and people love to connect with you. There is a need to follow some life-changing tips to live better.

6.Fitness- An Evergreen Mantra

Doing physical workouts must be a part of your daily routine. It results in the release of dopamine hormone which helps you to be in a good mood throughout the day. Drink 10–12 glasses of water to keep yourself hydrated. You can also consider the following suggestions to stay healthy:

  • Brisk walking or jogging.
  • Practice Yoga and meditation.
  • Active participation in sports such as cycling, swimming, badminton, football, etc.
  • Indulging in adventurous activities such as hiking, rock climbing, river rafting, etc.
  • Start using stairs instead of elevators.

7. Be a Nature Lover

Nature has the power to boost your immune system. You can start a kitchen garden to grow seasonal plants such as money plants, rubber plants, herbs, and flowers as well. You can also try organic farming and plant your fruits and vegetables which will be free of harmful pesticides. Take proper care of them and promote water harvesting to save groundwater. In this way, you are contributing a lot to conserve natural resources.
