Self-Reflection
When it comes to setting your boundaries, there is a need to understand what you need to protect to feel safe and respected. Always consider past experiences where boundaries were breached. Identify your feelings and reactions when and where you felt uncomfortable. Identify your emotional, physical and mental limits.
Communicate Clearly
Boundaries must be communicated explicitly. Always be clear and assertive without being aggressive. Use “I” statements to express your needs such as “I feel comfortable when…” It is always suggested to use straightforward language to express your needs and preferences.
Start Small
If setting boundaries is new to you, start with smaller ones. As you build confidence, progress to more challenging scenarios. You need to start setting your boundaries in less stressful situations…
