Green tea is not just a drink but an experience that blends history, health and culture. Whether you drink it for its health benefits or its soothing flavour, it is a simple yet profound addition to anyone’s lifestyle.
If I talk about its origin, I have read about green tea in many resources that it originally began from the lush green tea fields in China over 5000 years ago. That was during the reign of emperor Shen Nong, a legendary figure with the invention of agriculture and herbal medicines in Chinese mythology.
According to an ancient story, the emperor discovered tea accidentally when leaves from a tree blew into his pot of boiling water creating an aromatic infusion. After that incident, Green tea spread throughout Asia. I have read that Japanese monks incorporate green tea into their Zen Meditation practices. It helps to heighten concentration and mindfulness.
